Chris' Take:
Kaskade has always been great at cranking out great tunes, and when they team up with Deadmau5, they create a powerful collaboration called "Move For Me". I dig the original, which most fans of dance music are familiar with, but I wanted more. I was convinced that there had to be remixes. To my great surprise, I found them on Beatport. Beatport offers five downloads, but technically there are only three remixes, with the remaining two downloads being a dub and an instrumental version. I just don't count those. This review will focus on the three remixes: "Mind Electric Mix", "Santiago & Bushido Mix", and "Rasmus Faber Epic Mix".
I'll start with my favorite of the three remixes, the "Mind Electric Mix". It has a very playful approach to remixing this already great track. At times, you don't even know what track is being remixed until the vocals chime in and identify the track. (Wait... is that good or bad? Well, I like it.) It gives the track an element of surprise to those listening in a DJ mixset environment.
The "Santiago & Bushido Mix" also gives the track an "unfamiliar sound" approach, barely giving any clue as to which track you are listening to until the big vocal reveal. It borrows nothing musically from the original version, but maintains it's own ability to completely keep things going strong on a new level.
The "Rasmus Faber Epic Mix" is more mellow in its approach, providing a classic house music formula. Its delivery is almost a deep house, soulful house, but with a slightly more energetic edge. It sounds a lot closer to the original (production-wise, not musically). If you dig the original and are not a fan of tweaking things up a lot, this remix would be more suitable for you.
Like I said, the other two remaining downloads are a dub (Santiago & Bushido) and an instrumental (Rasmus Faber), which pretty much sound like their vocal counterparts.
If you are like me and you prefer remixes to the original, you might wanna check this out on Beatport.
