The Presets—for those of you that don’t know—is fast becoming one of Australia’s biggest electronic exports.... While their previous album was a definite stand-out, Apocalypso just cuts through the rest.

I'm impressed with the progress that the Sheltershed guys have made on this latest offering. I can't believe I'm actually saying this, but I've been listening to Sheltershed all week. However, Motor Club has some problems that make it sound pretty amateur.

Jesus Is Re:mix is (obviously) a remix project, as pointed out in the name, based on Hillsong London's 2006 Jesus Is project. The idea is one that has been attempted countless times in the Christian Music Industry. For the most part, these projects are unimpressive in a club setting. This project however is not bad at all.

Although not as immediately accessible as what is heard on pop radio, it definitely is a pop concept album more than an album of dance tracks. Looked at as pop, or maybe rock, it is unusually substantial. In return for being slightly inaccessible, it has something to offer on repeated listens.

There's this whole scene of indy/electro/synth pop I'm not familiar of. Cut the Red Wire is probably a typical band from this genre. They released an interesting electro-pop album. It features nine tracks with very emotional and melancholic sounds. Each track has very good melodies and harmonies—some simple, some complex—which keeps it interesting.

Eleven seconds into this recording, I knew I had found something special. It is there that the sepia-toned breakbeat takes your hand and leads you into the wood between the worlds that is Colourful Year. With sounds and songwriting that can only be described properly with visual references, The Weather Inside engages nearly all senses in a pop-influenced jaunt through electronic downtempo music.

BT has struck gold once again. Taking a different route for this record, BT has temporarily shelved his energetic breaks and distinctive EDM persona. The mood of this album is that of ambience, reflection, and ease, while maintaining the ever-present technical intuition that goes hand-in-hand with any BT production.

This is the new release by Christian Electronic staples, Sheltershed. Although the group has put out some quality tracks in the past, I feel as if this is a group at a crossroad: industrial or dance?

VNV has long stood for quality music in the Industrial Dance scene and their remix album “Burning Empires” is a staple for most DJ’s (still played today). You would be interested to know that Humate co-produced a few of the tracks and I believe you will find an almost Progressive quality to them.

This time all of my reviews have a similar element: Markus Schulz. It’s not that I have a deep-seated love for the guy, but I do enjoy some of his music. Not all of it mind you, but some.
