Get Involved

Tastyfresh.com is built on the involvement of its community. Without people volunteering their time and skills, this site would not exist. This site has never in its history been a for profit site. There have been times when advertising was sold here as well as merchandise, but none of it was ever enough to cover the bills much less pay anyone for their efforts. It's out of a love for the people here and the music that so much has been done through this site. If you have been around for a while and would like to become more involved, we'd love to have you. You don't have to spend hours and weeks on a single task and in reality, you can be as involved as you would like to be here. Just know that your involvement is desired and welcome. Here are just a few ways how you can help out.

The Forums

The first, easiest and most important way you could help with the site is to become an active poster on our forums. Plenty of people here lurk, but the ones who make an impact within the community get involved. Our community is in constant need of prayer and encouragement. This is best done through direct online communication on the forums. We often find too that people are just getting started and need some advice on producing and DJing. If you have ANY experience, even if it's only in your bedroom, we'd love for you to share it. This simple thing could save people hours of frustration and potentially be the next big breakthrough they need.  The forums are also a great place for you to promote your own efforts. Go right ahead. We'd love to hear what you're doing. Just don't make it all about yourself.

The Community

The forums have been around for over ten years now, but the idea of a social network here is still somewhat new. There are many features there, but the most powerful tool is the advance search feature. You can use this tool to find other people who leave near you who have similar interests and skills. Why not do a search and see who lives near you and plan a gathering? You can also create your own online groups for specific discussion topics. Beyond that, you have a profile page much like you would with Facebook.com, so take advantage of your wall, friends and well... their walls. Like with the forum, be an encourager to everyone.

Help Support the Site Financially

Tastyfresh.com isn't free. We have several annual bills which include web hosting, web templates and the  community software to name a few. The total cost each year is about $460. If you would like to help with that cost, you can. Just use the donation box on this very page.

Provide a DJ Mix

Tastyfresh.com is host to several podcasts. One of which is Homegrown. Hosted by Jpuddy, Homegrown features some of the best unrecognized talent from the site. If you have a mix or a live PA recording that you would like to share with the community, please contact Jpuddy and let him know. He's always looking for a new face to feature.

Write an Article

One area that has been sorely lacking for the past few years now are the articles. We have not had the staff dedicated to writing and editing articles like we used to. However, we still like to post them whenever we get one in. If you would like to write an article, please do so and let Dave Richards know. He'll review it and post it. In a few months, we hope to have the system set up so you can submit articles directly on the site from your account. Topics that we are interested in include: interviews, tutorials, articles about the EDM culture, industry news and insights, event planning and promotions, your testimony, event reviews and more. If you want an example of what we're looking for, just read through some or all of the old articles.

Post Your Events (Club, Festival, Radio, Podcast...)

We're constantly getting emails from people looking for Christian run EDM events. If you are promoting one, please use the events section of the site to post your events to the calendar. Not only that, but feel free to promote them on the forums and to submit articles about them. We want to keep our visitors informed about what you are doing.  Let your event be the inspiration for someone else's.

Tell Others About Tastyfresh.com

One area that has been constant for the past eight years has been unique visitors. Tastyfresh.com on average gets between five and seven thousand visitors a month. We really would like to see some growth in this. We're not going to find it unless you tell your friends. So please tell your friends about us. Make sure you link to our latest articles and podcasts in your blogs and the other social networks you post to. Eventually, we'll have a web promotions kit available for you to use. Just remember that without you, we cannot grow. We really do need your support.

Get Involved with the Annual Afterhours Compilation CD

Every year we produce a compilation CD that is given away for free at the Cornerstone Music Festival. Only one thousand copies are made and the only way someone can get a copy is by either attending the festival or contributing either financially to the project or by donating the music for it. These CDs are in constant demand outside of the festival and we simply cannot contractually make them available any other way.

There is also nothing like seeing the faces of the people at Cornerstone light up when you give them free music. These CDs aren't just a way to introduce rockers to EDM, but they are memories of the festival that they can take home with them. There are people at the festival who have every compilation that we have put out and freak out when they find out we have done another one.  There are very few things that Tastyfresh.com has done that has had such a dramatic impact on people like this has. We will start promoting this project again in March.

Submit a Demo for the Afterhours Stage at the Cornerstone Music Festival

Since 1997, Tastyfresh.com has been in charge of the Cornerstone Music Festival's official EDM stage. In years past, world class DJs and producers from Andy Hunter to Greg "Stryke" Chin to Kenneth Thomas to Shiloh to Terrance Parker to Tim Richards to Joel Armstrong and more have played the stage.  Each year, we hold a contest for each night's opening slot. Four of the DJs who play the Afterhours stage each year come from this community. We'd love for you to submit a demo. If we like it, you'll be booked. We start taking demos in January.

There is only one catch. Due to budget limitations, we cannot guarantee that  those selected will make enough money to break even on their expenses. Cornerstone, as anybody who has actually attended can tell you, is a labor of love. Even the core Tastyfresh.com leaders who plan the event come out in the red. What we can promise you is a week that will change your life in some way. You will get to serve with other likeminded individuals and you'll learn how to rough it in what hopefully will be the closest you will ever get to a refugee camp. There is just nothing like this experience because as soon as the lights go out each night, you know that you will be setting the tone for a show that will have more than one thousand attendees.

You Tell Us What You Want to Do

That's right. If you don't see an area that you want to get involved in, but you have a great idea on what you would like to do, contact Dave Richards and let him know. Put together a great sales pitch of an idea and be prepared to defend it. If Dave likes it and you are willing to execute the plan, Tastyfresh.com will probably run with it. We need new and exciting ideas here to keep people interested, motivated and involved.

So... those are just a few of the many things you can get involved with here. All of this starts though with one simple thing. You have to join the site. If you haven't registered an account yet, please do so now and let's get started making Tastyfresh.com an even better place.
