Afterhours 2008
Written by Dave Richards, Friday 16 May, 2008
It’s May. In less than two months, we’ll be in Bushnell, Il again throwing down at the Cornerstone Music Festival. A lot has happened since last year and a lot has remained the same. Over all we’re in both a stronger and weaker position this year over last. Last year was our first year running the EDM stage at the festival. We’ve been planning the event since several days before we wrapped up the last one. We should have it all together, but figuratively speaking, fate has dealt us another hand and we have had to make some changes to our plans.
Afterhours 2008: Lineup
Written by Dave Richards, Tuesday 18 March, 2008
Twenty-five years ago, a group for Christians with a love for music decided to put together a festival dedicated to Christian Rock. Over the course of twenty-five years, that festival has changed locations and expanded to cover everything dealing with Christians and well… creativity. The festival’s name: Cornerstone. The festival’s founders: Jesus People USA. The festival’s location: Bushnell, IL.
New Year's Eve... Club Truth style
Written by Jessica Reiche, Tuesday 30 November, 1999

Astonished is the only word that came to mind when I grabbed the microphone at 11:55pm and saw a packed room of all ages staring back at me. Who would have thought that this would actually work? God did, obviously. Club Truth’s original idea of a huge NYE bash filled with guest DJs, giveaways and an intense night of praise and worship came shattering to the ground when nothing fit into place. Our original idea of having New Years at Club Truth resembled a mix of how a church brings in the New Year and how a nightclub brings in the New Year.

AfterHours 2007: On the Flip Side
Written by Kairsie LaNora, Thursday 26 July, 2007

Once again I found myself surrounded by blazing lights, pulsating beats, and a super-hyper atmosphere known as the Dance Barn. Only this time it was not my hands carefully crafting the ambiance of the room. I was not a performer; I was an attendee.

AfterHours 2007: Doug Theodore Tells It Like It Was
Written by Doug Theodore, Thursday 26 July, 2007

Cornerstone 2007... ahh the memories. I really had a great time. Actually if I try to explain in this journal how good of a time I had I certainly will do injustice to the amount of fun I had. Overall I would have to give it an A+.

I traveled up to Cornerstone with Dave Richardson and that was great. Dave and I both live north of Atlanta, but for some reason or another never really spent time hooking up with each other and hanging out. This road trip allowed us to hang out and really get to know each other. It was good, real good to get to know Dave: Super Nice Guy.

AfterHours 2007: From Adam Sean's Point of View
Written by Adam Sean, Thursday 26 July, 2007

It feels like only yesterday I was cramped up and smushed into the back seat of a Jeep Liberty, pulling out of the driveway of my good friends' house in Birmingham, Alabama. We were all jacked up on Mountain Dew and ready for the long trip ahead. One quick stop at a McDonald's and we were off.

A couple of us had been to Cornerstone before, but two in our group were new to the experience. I myself had been to year before, but only had the chance to go for two days. Apparently, I had missed a lot of the fun. So I made sure that I had plenty of time off work.

The Tastyfresh Sound System: The Details are in the Lineup
Written by Jeremy Kadinger, Sunday 27 May, 2007

Many of us are excited for this year’s get together at Cornerstone. I wish that it was all going down right now but I am glad to have a little more time to take care of the details left to be done. This year I will be running a sound system during the day to help promote the Dance Club at night.

Cornerstone 2007 EDM Lineup Announced
Written by Dave Richards, Monday 12 March, 2007

Tastyfresh.com and BTU Live are proud to announce the Cornerstone 2007 Dance Club lineup. Building on the success of the Underground’s management and direction during the 2005 and 2006 years, there really was only one way to improve the lineup for this year and that was to grab not only some fan favorites, but to bring in some of the biggest names currently in the EDM scene. If you haven’t attended Cornerstone in a few years, you’ve really missed out, but if you have been and haven’t checked out the Dance Club, you won’t want to miss it this year.

Cornerstone 2007 Dance Club to be Managed by Tastyfresh.com and BTU Live
Written by Dave Richards, Thursday 15 February, 2007

It’s official. Oneel, Fitzpatrick and I will be running the Dance Club at this year’s Cornerstone Music Festival in Bushnell, Il. For the most part, things will go exactly as they have in the past… but hopefully better.  John Herrin, the festival director, has been very open to some changes, as have we.

Andy Hunter and Club Worship: DJ Yo-yo's Perspective
Written by Joe Ambrose, Friday 15 September, 2006

Nothing really could have gotten me more excited than when I finally booked a hotel room for last weekend.  I was going down to see one of my biggest influences in music play at a venue I have always wanted to visit.  Yes indeed, Andy Hunter was coming all the way across the Atlantic, just about 6 hours east of where I live to Club Worship.   All I had to do now was drive down with 3 of my best friends, what a great weekend ahead of me.

Andy Hunter and Club Worship: John Baker's Perspective
Written by John Baker, Friday 15 September, 2006

I’m still pretty new to the dance music scene (Christian or secular) as a whole and to DJ-led worship in particular, and until September 9th, I hadn’t been to any live events. I really don’t think that I could’ve picked a better weekend for my first live EDM experience and my first DJ-led worship event.

CloveR Festival 2006
Written by Craig White, Friday 15 September, 2006

For anyone who has been there, it goes without saying that Traverse City Michigan is beautiful. Located in the Northern Peninsula along Lake Michigan, Traverse City is a vacation hot spot for many folks in the Mid West. As a former Michigander myself, I fell in love with this place as a kid on family vacations.

CloveR Festival 2006: I liked it, OK?
Written by Chris Salisbury, Friday 15 September, 2006

I guess a lot of people writing a review about this festival will pretty much have the same information, so I will try to do something different. Rather than focus on the technical aspects of things or how professional this was done, I will approach this from my personal experience.

Cornerstone 2006: Building the Refugee Camp
Written by Heather Kadinger, Friday 15 September, 2006

We drove slowly away trying to find Camp Tastyfresh, and parked.  While we were looking over the field where the big white tent with UG was to see if anyone was there, there is a loud hissing coming out of our front tire.  “Oh no!  It’s going flat!  Well at least it happened here, it could have been anywhere along the road,” Jeremy and I both say to each other.

Cornerstone 2006: My Cornerstone Wrap-Up
Written by Luke Bodley, Friday 15 September, 2006

After getting a new tire I was on my way and arrived at Cornerstone on Thursday, the 6th at about 4pm. To be honest, since it was my first time I had no clue what to expect. I had always imagined Cornerstone to be some sort of youth group party, ya know the kind with pizza and pop, youth pastors chasing around the rebellious one and all that. But to my shock it was a lot harder and more real than that.

Cornerstone 2006: My Things Have Changed
Written by Dave Richards, Friday 15 September, 2006

It’s been four years since I had last been and a lot has changed. For the second year now, an organization other than one of the two traditional dance music labels ran the Dance Club… or Dance Barn as the club’s patrons more accurately call it. To me, what this signifies is that the event has moved from the control of the labels to the control of the fans.

Something Happened this Year and We Almost Missed It: The World’s First Christian EDM Festival
Written by Dave Richards, Friday 15 September, 2006

Greetings,

Say WHAT?!?

A Time to Worship and Re:fresh
Written by John Rhaesa, Thursday 15 September, 2005

So, what happened during the worship experience? Well, God showed up! In the beginning of the night I was a little concerned as some of the people who came expected a thumping dance event. Halfway through the event the noise video began and complete silence fell over the entire crowd. It was an incredible experience. Think about it, you are at a festival of about 28,000 people and it was so quiet that you could hear a pin drop in the dance barn. It was at that point I knew people were getting it.

Prophecy of PANIC: Pride and Prejudice at Cornerstone 2005
Written by Brandon Sweet, Friday 15 July, 2005

After partner Daniel Somboonsiri left the group in 1997, Scroggins continued POP as a solo live act, and has the distinction of being one of the few producers in the “Christian scene” to put out vinyl (1998’s Activ8 EP) at a time when the thought of pressing wax was a pipe dream for many. Scroggins gained indie cred with his releases on Patchpoint Muzik in 2002 and dropped a remix or two for artists including Sheltershed and Redsavior. Prophecy of PANIC is also a longtime Cornerstone electronic music mainstay, performing in 1995, 1997, 1999, and 2002. This year was to be a homecoming of sorts for Scroggins, a ten-year anniversary.

Cornerstone 2005: A Big Year For Dance
Written by Chris Salisbury, Friday 15 July, 2005

When we, the forum members of Tastyfresh, think about Cornerstone, chances are we are thinking of the DJ's and dancing. However, when one actually goes to Cornerstone, you quickly see that we are the minority. Cornerstone attendees go for various reasons from the bands, to friends, to experience God, and others just to get away from life. But out of all the reasons people go, seeing DJ's spin is not on their minds a lot of the times. Well this year, dance music was represented in three venues and one impromptu card table near the footbridge.
