As you probably have noticed, there is no REAL Drop this issue. I sent out about 15 emails and private messages to people, and either they were not interested in writing a Drop or I did not receive any response. Because of this, there will be no official Drop this time out.

But I do want to talk a bit about this column. This column is one of the most popular columns in the Tastyfresh.com zine. Ikronix’s Drop has almost 600 hits to date (Part 1 with 383, Part 2 with 209), DJ 404’s "Basics of Internet Broadcasting" with over 500 hits to date, and my article on DJ led worship with over 100 rounding out the top 4. Yet I have an incredibly difficult time trying to find people to write it each month. I have posted in the forums on several occasions asking for the DJs on this site to contact me if they are interested in writing a Drop, and I have yet to get any response.

Now, you may not think this is such a bad thing; my only responsibility right now is this Drop. However, I am leaving for the UK in January, which means 1 of 3 things:

  1. David R picks this up and runs with it like he was before I took it.
  2. Another person takes this up and continues.
  3. It dies.

In an effort to keep this going, I am extending this to not only include DJs, but also producers and promoters. The following is the Mission Statement for the Drop:

To better equip DJs to reach the Lost through the music they spin.
To better equip club goers to reach the lost through a common element, music.
To better recharge both DJs and club goers by way of Christian events and stories of what God has done and is doing through other DJs and club goers.

I encourage all DJs, producers, and promoters that are involved in secular and Christian dance music scene to pray and ask the Lord if there is anything that He wants you to share. Remember that God wants to work through you in the lives of our brothers and sisters.

Peace in Christ,
Alex Wilson
