You may have noticed that we’ve fallen way behind our usually scheduled content releases. Personally, I’m not too happy about it, but it’s turned out to be unavoidable. Part of me wants to simply blame it all on Cornerstone. Kevin Oneel, Chris Reiche and I were all there and we each spent weeks if not months getting ready for the annual event. It actually didn’t suck all the life out of us, but it did do us in mentally as far as the podcasts, reviews and articles go.
All three of us came home to various levels of chaos that we had ignored for weeks or in my personal case, months. Everything we neglected simply had to get done. I personally came home to a family that hadn’t seen me for over a week, a water heater in need of replacement and a deadline that had been moved from late September to early August. The last one is what’s killing me now. Kevin came back with bronchitis and he and Brooks needed to take a serious look at their band. It’s now got a new member and a new name. There’s more on that in our forums. Chris came back to his wedding anniversary and a bad case of VMware development at work among many other things. Of course, Jpuddy could have gotten an episode of Homegrown out, if he hadn’t been slammed like the rest of us, even though he didn’t attend Cornerstone.
Never fear though, we’re going to make up for it over the next few months.
First, next month we will be bringing you not a mix or two from Afterhours 2009, but all four nights. We will release one night a week next month. This will again bump all of our usual podcasts, but we think it will be a worthy cause. This is the first time that every set has been recorded at Cornerstone and been released to the public. It was a dream of Chris Salisbury to do this, so we wanted to make that one come true. Sadly, it’s just a few months too late for him to enjoy it.
Second, I’ve already written the Afterhours 2009 wrap-up article. Chris just needs time to pick out a few photos to go with it. I will do my best to have a new photo gallery up in the next few weeks with photos from Afterhours. Unlike previous years, we have some really professional photos this time around thanks to the hard work of Jessica Reiche. We also have some unprofessional ones by Brooks and myself. It’s almost comical really. I’m debating whether or not I should post the picture of the Cornerstone back entrance.
Third, reviews… we’re working on that.
Other things in the works, Carey Jarvis has agreed to do a series of interviews for us with at least Shiloh and Paradigm Shift. Hopefully we can turn this into a series. Unlike Matt Hyatt’s interviews, these will be more focused on the fans than production. That’s something that we could use a bit more of around here. I will eventually get back to writing the 10 Commandments series. I love writing those, but time has always been an issue. Before I do that though, I will write an article about the specific needs we have here on TF and believe me, we have needs. One of the reasons why we haven’t posted content this month is because we do not have enough people with specific talents helping out and those who are helping are doing double or triple duty right now.
That’s it for now. Thanks for sticking with us even in our down days. With God’s grace, we’ll be back to normal sooner rather than later.
