Cornerstone 2007 EDM Lineup Announced

Image Tastyfresh.com and BTU Live are proud to announce the Cornerstone 2007 Dance Club lineup. Building on the success of the Underground’s management and direction during the 2005 and 2006 years, there really was only one way to improve the lineup for this year and that was to grab not only some fan favorites, but to bring in some of the biggest names currently in the EDM scene. If you haven’t attended Cornerstone in a few years, you’ve really missed out, but if you have been and haven’t checked out the Dance Club, you won’t want to miss it this year.

BTU Live (www.btulive.com)

That’s right, BTU is bringing in the festival the way it should be with a huge bang and booming bass. Come watch as Fitzpatick, Oneel, Alex B and Adam Sean show us all how to bring it up from the South.

Image Fitzpatrick

Producer and performer, Jeremy Fitzpatrick Mauldin, more commonly known simply as Fitzpatrick defines both of these words. As both a producer and performer, Fitzpatrick has wowed audiences for over 8 years. As a producer, he has released two original albums, several singles,as well as the wildly popular Interstate Traveler series. As a performer, he's appeared on mix shows from Birmingham to Australia on top of brining his trademark blend of driving, emotional beats to audiences all over the world. Often compared to producer/DJtypes such as D:Fuse and Christopher Lawrence, Fitzpatrick is the next player in the ever growing list of top American Trance producers.

Image Oneel

Some people prefer to make their mark on culture with brash statements and much boasting. Oneel has preferred to make his by doing what he does best; simply getting things done. For 10 years, Kevin Neely, better known as Oneel, has quietly risen up through the ranks to become one of the most respected DJ/Producer/Remixer combinations in the United States.

Image Alex B

I needed a new bio, something short, simple and to the point.... I’ve been DJing EDM all over the Southeast for 5yrs and I love it. I have had the pleasure of seeing, playing parties with and meeting some of the biggest names in this business, and I am grateful to have been able to do so... I do not consider myself a cocky, stuck up individual when it comes to me and DJing, and I LOVE connecting with a crowd when I mix.

Formerly, Zion's Gate, He has had the blessing to play alongside artists such as Shiloh, Sheltershed, The Enemy of Evol Intent, Tarrence Parker, Kenneth Thomas as well as many others at shows such as the renowned Cornerstone Festival and the first annual Clover Festival of the DEMF, LLC. An affiliate of BTU, he has carried his driving basslines and atmospheric melodies into the light, reaching out to those who come to listen; to belong. His unique blend of Psy-Trance draws party goers into an almost uncontrollable trance uniting all within earshot. A real force to be reckoned with.

Image dj404 (www.jitabeat.com)

dj404, aka Chris Salisbury has been an active participant and promoter of Christian music since the early 90’s. Starting off throwing small house parties and recording radio demos and mixtapes, Chris has always done what was needed to be involved. His passion has always been about finding the best Christian artists and getting them heard, no matter how unknown they were. His musical listening styles ranges from rock to rap to dance, but behind the decks, he has always been about dance music. His influences are undoubtedly old school house acts such as Farley Jackmaster Funk, C+C Music Factory, Black Box, Madonna, and many other acts that sparked his interest in dance music during his high school days of 1988 - 1993.

Image Joel Armstrong (www.joel-armstrong.com)

Joel got into electronic music around ’95 listening to 2 Unlimited and Ace of Base and that wonderful CD, Dance Mix ’95!. His main influence has been his close friendship with Colin & Justin of Shiloh. Music on the progressive angle has been his passion for a number of years now, much of it tinged with a bit of an Asian feel, credited to the 15 years he spent growing up in Indonesia. His popularity as a producer skyrocketed when his music was featured in Shiloh’s monthly show on Proton Radio.
With more than 25 releases from 11 different labels currently on Beatport.com, Joel has become a force in the EDM scene to be reckoned with. He also works with fellow producer Micah as A&R for their label Ruhnsong Recordings.

Image Greg “Stryke” Chin (www.stryke.net)

Triple threats don't come so easy in the world of electronic dance music.  Greg "Stryke" Chin is one of those rare anomalies in this industry.  He's equal parts recording artist, DJ, and producer.  The shy, sometimes introverted Stryke feels equally at home in all three.  Born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, Stryke began his music career at an early age.  He started playing classical piano at the age of four.  Moving to Miami, Florida (where he still resides) when he was ten, Stryke became heavily involved in early electronic alternative scene.  His love for Beethoven and Chopin were quickly joined by his new love for groups such as Depeche Mode and New Order (not to mention an unhealthy addiction to video games, which he still has to this very day).  Buying his first synthesizer at age 12, Stryke quickly learned the ways of additive synthesis and began writing electronic songs with his trusty monophonic Roland SH-101 synth.  He soon discovered house and techno from a mix tape given to him by his cousin, who was a DJ in New York.  He was hooked.  At age 14, the young Stryke had already begun DJing to make money to buy more synth equipment.  But after discovering this new underground dance music, he became as passionate about DJing as he was about making music.  Says Stryke of the two, "Both production and DJing have really become one in the same for me.  I really can't separate  the two.  The words musician, artist, and DJ, all have the same importance to me."  Although his styles as a producer range anywhere from techno, house, ambient, progressive, Stryke hates the barrier game.  "I see it all as music.  Every genre has music which is good and bad.  That's it.  I hate the fact that some people raise an eyebrow when I release a house record when perhaps they know me for techno.  All that should matter is whether something is good or bad.  Period."  Make no mistake however, all pigeonholing talk aside, when it comes to DJing, Stryke gets primal.  He's considered to be one of the top DJs around today.  His globetrotting schedule and growing legions of fans is proof positive of his ability to command dancefloors worldwide.  His dexterity is proven time and time again.  While DJing, Stryke utilizes three turntables, digital CD players, Final Scratch 2 on a customized Alienware notebook, and live effects processing.  His live shows, while rare, are an even bigger treat.  He's had Billboard chart success with his Ad Finem project and as a remixer.  His guest vocal on the track "Time" with Murk, went #1 in the US in 2004.  He's collaborated with artists such as Murk, Christian Smith, John Beltran, Santos, & Alex Flater, to name a few.  With releases on labels such as Ovum, Hooj Choons, Monoid, Circle, Guidance, Platform, Twisted, & many others, there seems to be no end in sight for this bright star.  Over the years, his residencies have included nights at clubs such as the legendary Edge, Warsaw, Maze, & Nocturnal. In 2004, he was asked to be the official DJ for the MTV VMAs.  Balancing work between the studio and the road hasn't been easy.  But Stryke wouldn't have it any other way.  "I'm truly blessed to be able to do what I love.  The work, the stress, and the hardship is all worth it at the end of the day."  Stryke is quickly becoming the hardest working man in electronic music.  Listen...Communicate...Understand.

Image Doug Theodore (www.myspace.com/djdougtheodore)

2006 was the biggest year yet for DJ Doug Theodore, preparing him for an enormous 2007.  He changed his name, sound, look, and feel as 2006 was a massive year of transformation in the career of Doug.  Formerly known as DJ Backdraft, Doug changed his name to Doug Theodore and ventured out to play clubs in Atlanta.  Doug entered the Surface Atlanta mix contest in August and won 1st place securing gigs with one of the largest DJ production companies in the southeast.  His sound evolved as well.  Gone were the rolling buildups and a more mature, polished sound evolved.  He found his nitch within the large scope of Electronic Dance Music.

This will be his second performance at Cornerstone Music Festival after djing the N*soul stage with the likes of DJ Lovejoy, Jeremy Dawson, Faith Massive, and Antidote in 2000.  Some of Doug’s other achievements include winning the Florida Music Festival mix contest and DJing at the festival in Orlando, DJing at Fusion in Jacksonville, FL ½ dozen times and being a major cog in the rise of Amplified Life in the Atlanta Rave Scene in the late 90’s.  He has opened or played with The Echoing Green, Sheltershed, Joy Electric, Jason Dunne, Bill Sikes, Audity, Prophetica and The Prodigal Sons.

2007 guarantees to be an even bigger year out on the town for Doug as more and more clubbers in the south here his melodic driving progressive sound he has been crafting live for over 9 years.

Image Kenneth Thomas (www.djkenneththomas.com)

Kenneth Thomas is quickly positioning himself as one of the to DJs in the Metropolitan Detroit Area. Continually striving for perfection and bringing progressive trance to the area both have been his main desires. Acquiring the headlining resident position on Saturday nights at Motor Detroit, voted number one club in America by URB Magazine 2001, and launched Kenneth into the spotlight. Playing Toronto's System Sound Bar and numerous events in Cleveland have aided him in becoming a force within the national realm. In Detroit he still concentrates on local club promoting and working relentlessly at bringing National as well as International talent to the scene.

An inspiring DJ, he says the following in his own words on how he got started in the music scene. “I was introduced to Paul Oakenfold's, Tranceport by some friends in San Francisco. Before that I had no interest in Electronic music. Two years later after becoming submersed in trance and progressive house music I picked up turntables.” His early influences include such artist as Paul Oakenfold, Tiesto, Sandra Collins, Sasha & Digweed, Dave Seaman and Jon Pak. These influences along with some great natural ability and fantastic energy are what make listening to “KT” so great!

He has struggled in his home are of Detroit, trying to break through the heavy influences of the Detroit techno scene. As he says, “traditionally this town has not embraced progressive styles of electronic music and has ever so graciously adopted the saying “Trance Sucks” as its motto as the anti-progressive capital of the world. This is a very techno oriented city that doesn't tend to validate any other form of electronic music. But with the help of my friends, fans, and other DJs we'll work to broaden the horizons of this city or at least reach as many new people as possible.

“This is the most amazing sound I have ever encountered, I just want to share it with as many people as possible”
– KT –

In addition to these acts, we are working to do some general improvements to the venue. More gravel will be brought in to ensure better drainage around the barn and there should also be less trash. We also have permission to go a bit later this year than we have in recent years. BTU will also be bringing in Harmony Products (www.harmonynet.net ) to provide both the sounds and lights for the week. We are also working toward having a “satellite sound system” stage during the day. More information on this will come closer to the festival.
