We did it. Once again, this community reached into their pockets and gave so that others might have something to take home and remember Afterhours, Cornerstone and hopefully Tastyfresh.com. 

I cannot tell you the excitement expressed by the festival goers when they find out that we’re giving out yet ANOTHER CD. It’s something that they treasure each year and listen to over and over again. What’s funny though are the people who have never gotten one before and can’t understand that we’re just giving them away. Once they do though, they’re hooked.

I could not be more proud of this community than I am now. Thank you all so much for your generosity. I especially want to thank DJ Saltyflavor aka Mathew Bryant for his generous matching of funds yesterday. It was his efforts that truly put us over the top. In fact, he put us way over the top. 

In the end, because he kept his word, we collected a total of $1,115. With the extra money, we will be able to invest in a portable digital recording system to record this year’s dj sets with. This will hopefully replace the old MacBook Pro that we used last year where the hard drive filled up on the last night causing some file recovery issues. If you have suggestions for one that costs under $200 and has a line in to record off the mixer, let me know.

Again, thank you for all of your help on this project. We’ll be announcing the track listing and cover art soon. The CDs will be mailed to you between July and August.  If you want to get a copy of the CD and have not donated yet, you can still donate. All additional funds will go toward various out of pocket expenses like hardware odds and ends, that digital recorder I mentioned, painting supplies, canned air, replacement power strips and so on. 

Lastly, we still have a week left if you would like to submit music for the CD.  Any genre is welcome, but ultimately Science Drop picks what makes it. You can submit your tracks here.
